Obituary

Albert Cleveland Reams was born in Arkansas on April 3, 1940. The eldest of eight children, Albert spent his early years in Arkansas before moving to Alton, Illinois, where he attended high school. In 1957, he enlisted in the U.S. Army. In 1958 Albert was deployed to Korea where he earned the Korea Defense Service Medal. He completed his active-duty service in 1960. While in the Army, Albert demonstrated unwavering courage, dedication, and honor—values that would guide him throughout his life. Shortly after returning to Alton, Albert reconnected with Barbara, and they were married on August 16, 1960, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in faith and love. In 1970, Albert answered the call to pastoral ministry - a vocation he faithfully pursued for 54 years until his retirement in 2024. Over the decades, he was blessed to pastor churches across Alaska, Arizona, California, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon. His unwavering faith in Jesus Christ was the cornerstone of his life and ministry. His devotion to God and His Word shaped every aspect of his journey and inspired those around him. He found profound joy in worshiping his King and lived as a testament to the Redeemer he loved. Albert was the devoted husband of Barbara Reams, with whom he shared 64 years of loving marriage. Together, they built a life centered on God, church, and family, creating a Godly legacy that will endure for generations. Albert is lovingly remembered by his sons and daughter in-laws: Matt & Wanda of Kasilof, Alaska; Randy and Kimberlee of Nampa, Idaho; Timothy and Sharon of Bend, Oregon and Micah also of Nampa, Idaho. He was also blessed with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren who brought immense joy to his life. He cherished every moment spent with his family and was tremendously proud of them and their accomplishments. Albert was a true patriarch—loved and honored by his family and esteemed by his peers. He was a man whose word could be trusted and who expected others to keep theirs. His integrity and steadfast devotion to God left an indelible mark on his family and community. Albert's legacy lives on through the love he shared and the memories he created with those whose lives he touched. His memory will bring comfort to those who mourn his passing as they take solace in knowing he now abides in the presence of his Savior.
