Obituary for Warren Ray Varner

Warren Ray Varner was born in West Los Angeles on August 29, 1943 to Otto and Mildred Varner. He was welcomed home by his big brother Glen and his four older sisters who loved and doted on him: Georgia, Janice, Gayle and Betty. He was the youngest of the family and very much a Momma's boy.
Warren attended University High School in LA and was part of the class of 1961. After leaving high school he followed in his big brothers footsteps and joined the Military. He was part of the 101 Airborne (Screaming Eagles), something of which he was very proud. When his military service ended he again followed in his brothers footsteps and became a police officer with the Los Angeles Police Department. During his time as a police officer he was recognized multiple times for going above and beyond the call of duty. It was at that time he met and married the love of his life Elizabethann (Betty) they were married on February 23 in Canoga Park at the Chapel of the Canyons. They were later sealed on February 24 for Time and All Eternity in the Los Angeles Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Warren and Betty raised 8 children together. As he did in his military service and his time as a police officer he went above and beyond to provide for his family, at times working multiple jobs. He was very proud of his job working at a Big 8 accounting firm. This not only to provide for his family but to make sure his kids could participate in after school activities and sports. The house was always full with friends and kids who needed a safe place to go and feel loved. He was nicknamed and will always be remembered as “Wild” by his kids and their friends.
Warren went back to his Heavenly home on May 15, 2020 at 5:40am. He is preceded in death by his parents Otto & Mildred Varner; and his brother Glen Varner. He is survived by his wife Betty and the eight children they raised: Sean (Lizz)Varner, Nancy (Eddie) Lamm, Doug Varner, Dan (Adrienne)Varner, Tim (Tish)Varner, Amanda (Ron) Blau, James Varner, and Kyle Varner. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren: Kayla, Krew, McKay, Markus, Mallory, Justin, Skyler, Kristin, David, Danielle, Luke, Kyson, Brooks, Payton, Ella, Kasondra, Jade, Kylie, Oliver, Byron, and Gunner.
