Obituary for Ricky H Hibbens

Ricky H. Hibbens passed away with his family by his side on June 17, 2019. Rick was born December 26, 1958 in Heidelberg, Germany. Rick was the second of five children born to Robert (“Bob”) and Darlene Hibbens. Rick was raised as an “Army Brat” and grew up living on several different bases in Germany and stateside during his Father’s 24 year career in the U.S. Army. Rick, the oldest boy in the family, quickly assumed the role of big brother and had his hands full with his younger siblings. The family finally settled in Nampa in 1974 after Bob retired from the Army and Rick attended school in Nampa before he, like his father, enlisted in the U.S. Army.
After his enlistment in the Army Rick returned to Nampa where he worked for several years before moving to El Dorado Springs, Missouri. After moving to Missouri Rick started driving long haul trucks all across the United States and Canada. Rick loved the opportunity to see the country from the cab of his truck and logged millions of miles over the course of his career.
Although Rick did not have children of his own he kept close track of his nieces and nephews, shared his pride in their accomplishments and loved them unconditionally. Rick especially enjoyed the time he spent with his nieces and nephews the last few months. Spending time with family over the last few months and being home assuaged the pain Rick endured in his final days.
Rick was preceded in death by his father Robert H. Hibbens (1SG USA, Ret.) and his mother Darlene Johnson Hibbens.
Rick is survived by his sister Betty Ann Bagan (Wayne) of Flower Mound, Texas, his brother Mark Hibbens (Karen) of South Jordan, Utah, his brother Raymond Hibbens (Colleen) of Caldwell, Idaho, his little sister Roberta Dinius (Kevin) of Nampa, Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the caregivers from Signature Hospice for providing Rick the care, comfort and respect he so deserved.
Rick’s quirky smile and sense of humor will be missed. Freed from his mortal limitations Rick is free to soar again.
